At Spec-Savers Robbergbay Audiology located in Plettenberg Bay, wellness begins with the way we listen.
Led by Rethea Maree, our practice combines precise diagnostics, global clinical experience, and a deeply holistic approach to hearing care.

Trained at the University of Pretoria, Rethea brings four years of post graduate experience. She proudly represented Spec-Savers in some of the most prestigious coastal clinics in Hampshire, England. She knows the Spec-Savers brand and technology inside out and finds that their brand values align with her clinical standards: trusted, affordable, and dependable hearing solutions.

Before establishing Robberg Bay Audiology Inc., Rethea spent five months travelling through Western Europe and the Mediterranean, studying Blue Zone approaches to longevity and health. She later undertook training in Kundalini yoga in Ericeira, Portugal, under the mentorship of a Chinese-medicine herbalist—deepening her understanding of the nervous system, neuroplasticity, and their relevance to hearing and tinnitus care. These insights inform her measured, patient-centred approach to evidence-based audiology in Plettenberg Bay.

Under the mentorship of a London Doctor of Audiology, Rethea qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for tinnitus and hearing loss. She went on to establish one of the first online tinnitus clinics of its kind, collaborating with 45 audiologists worldwide to deliver structured, evidence-based tinnitus management. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: hearing aids are just one piece of wellbeing. Each client is a dynamic ecosystem where emotional, sensory, and social factors matter.
