Rethea Maree brings 4 years of highly versatile global audiological experience, precise diagnostics, and a deeply integrated approach to every hearing loss.
Trained at the University of Pretoria, Rethea has worked across South Africa’s public and private sectors and represented Spec-Savers abroad in the most prestigious coastal English clinics. She knows the Specsavers brand values and their chosen technologies inside out, choosing Spec-Savers because they align with her standard of care, which prioritises an offering of a trusted range of products — versatile, durable, and dependable, almost like a Swiss Army knife! She provides all audiological services, ensuring thorough and precise care for every patient.
Before opening Robbergbay Audiology Inc. she travelled across Western Europe and the Mediterranean for 5 months, visiting multiple Blue Zones and exploring lifestyles that promote longevity. She spent three months in Turkey and later studied Kundalini yoga in Ericeira, Portugal with a dedicated teacher and Chinese-medicine herbalist, an experience that entirely transformed her understanding of the nervous system and neuroplasticity. Inspired by these insights, she moved to Plettenberg Bay to practice and share more healthy, balanced living practices. 
Furthermore, under the guidance of a London doctor of Audiology, she qualified in cognitive behavioural therapy for tinnitus and hearing loss. Running her own online tinnitus clinic, one of the first of its kinds, she worked alongside 45 audiologists globally to master evidence-based approaches to tinnitus management, shaping patients’ thoughts and guiding them toward peace and quiet. She sees hearing aids as only one piece of a person’s wellbeing, approaching each individual as a dynamic ecosystem where emotional, social, and sensory elements interact.
Her favourite part of the workday is to merely listen, a sense she has great appreciation for.
